|William Haughey, the man who bought Peter Eastgate's gold braclet wants to work with World Series of Poker (WSOP) to organise a charity event.Peter Eastgate, winner of the 2008 WSOP main event, Auctioned the coveted gold braclet in November 2010 to raise money for charity.The winning bid of $147,500 went to “7***I” (William Haughey). Haughey, who has donated $5 million to charities, said he would match any money raised in such an event, up to $1 million.|
With the help of WSOP Haughey is hoping to combine his love of poker and passion for charitable deeds by raising $2 million for charity.Haughey and his wife both became fascinated by poker after he had made his fortune with his refrigeration company City Refrigeration Holdings. He said that he only bought the bracelet because the money was for a charitable cause.
